Terms of service

Last updated

These terms are an agreement between Select Red Ltd (company number 17009148, registered office Lian, Dark Lane, Camelford, Cornwall PL32 9UQ), "we" or "us", and the business or organisation using Rune, "you". By creating an account or subscribing, you accept these terms on behalf of that organisation and confirm you are authorised to do so.

Rune is for business use. It is not offered to consumers.

1. The service

Rune is an online service for running maturity assessments: building maturity models, collecting answers through private links, showing results, tracking blockers, and sharing progress. We may improve and change Rune over time. We will not remove a core feature you pay for without telling you in advance.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for your account, for keeping passwords secure, and for what happens under it. Tell us straight away at info@runehq.co.uk if you think your account has been used without permission.

3. Free trial

New workspaces get a 14-day free trial, with every feature, on one engagement with up to five teams or processes. No card is needed. When the trial ends, everything stays readable and exportable, and people part-way through a questionnaire can finish, but you cannot start new rounds or add engagements until you choose a plan.

4. Plans, payment and renewal

  • Prices and plan limits are shown on our pricing page. Prices are in pounds sterling. Select Red Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.
  • Subscriptions are paid in advance, monthly or annually, by card through Stripe, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.
  • If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you. It takes effect at your next renewal.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe will try again. If it still cannot be taken, paid features stop as described in section 3, and your data is kept.
  • Transformation office licences are agreed separately and may be invoiced. Those terms apply alongside these.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time under Billing → Manage billing. Your plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed after that. We do not refund part-used periods, except where the law requires it.

6. Your data

  • You own your content: the maturity models you build, the engagements, answers, blockers and reports. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Rune to you.
  • You can export your results at any time (PDF report and CSV files).
  • Deleting your workspace (Settings → Delete workspace) removes your content from the live service immediately.
  • If a trial ends or a subscription is cancelled and you do not come back, we delete the workspace after 12 months.
  • Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data, and the data processing terms in section 11 apply to personal data in your content.

7. Using Rune properly

You agree:

  • to tell the people you ask to answer questionnaires how their answers will be used, and to have a lawful basis for collecting them;
  • not to use Rune to rank, discipline or identify individuals from their answers, or to try to defeat its anonymity safeguards;
  • not to upload anything unlawful, harmful or that you do not have the right to use;
  • not to try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to Rune, or to copy it to build a competing product;
  • not to share accounts beyond the number of users your plan allows.

We may suspend access if these terms are seriously breached, and will tell you why.

8. Our templates and the Rune service

We own Rune and its templates, articles and design. You may use the templates and adapt them within Rune for your own work and your clients' work. You may not resell them as a product of their own.

9. Availability and support

We work to keep Rune available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and there may be planned maintenance. Support is by email at info@runehq.co.uk; Transformation office customers receive priority support.

10. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
  • Neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data that could have been avoided by keeping exports.
  • Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

11. Data processing terms

When you put personal data into Rune (for example respondents' answers, names, or blocker owners), you are the controller and we are your processor. These terms are intended to meet the requirements of Article 28 of the UK GDPR. We will:

  1. process that personal data only to provide Rune to you and on your documented instructions, which are these terms and how you use Rune;
  2. make sure everyone who can access it is bound by confidentiality;
  3. protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures, described on our security and data page;
  4. use only the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, give you notice before adding or replacing one so you can object, and hold them to equivalent obligations;
  5. help you respond to requests from people exercising their data protection rights, and with security, breach notification and data protection impact assessments, where it relates to Rune;
  6. tell you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data;
  7. delete your personal data when you delete your workspace or when it is deleted after the period in section 6, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  8. give you the information you reasonably need to show compliance, and allow for reasonable audits, at your cost and with reasonable notice.

Data may be transferred outside the UK only with the safeguards described in our privacy policy.

12. Ending these terms

You can stop using Rune at any time by cancelling and deleting your workspace. We may end these terms with 30 days' notice, or immediately if you seriously breach them. Sections 6, 8, 10 and 11 continue to apply after the end, as far as they need to.

13. General

  • We may update these terms. For significant changes we will email account holders at least 30 days before they apply.
  • These terms are the whole agreement between us about Rune, together with any signed order for a Transformation office licence, which takes priority if they conflict.
  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
